What is a Puncture Wound and How to Heal it Fast

November 14th, 2009 by admin

First, let’s look at what is a puncture wound. A puncture wound is any wound that breaks your skin by something that is sharp, thin and pointed. Examples of instruments that are the cause of puncture wounds include:

  • pins, needles, including vaccinations
  • teeth, so bites especially of insects
  • thorns
  • slivers of broken glass

This morning, I was weeding the garden and I suddenly felt a sharp pain in the heel of my hand. I saw a tiny sliver of what looked like the hair of a plant. But the pain was sharp and quite intense. Not enough to make me take any immediate action, but enough to wonder what it was. It certainly wasn’t the hair from a plant.

About an hour later, the pain was getting worse, but now the area was red and looked as if it was spreading up my arm.

Time for action!

I took a dose of the homeopathic medicine Ledum. Nothing really happened for about 15 minutes. Then I forgot about it. It was only when a patient was regailing her successes from using her homeopathic first aid kit, that I suddenly remembered.

There was no sign that it had ever happened. No pain, no redness.

Had I left it longer, more doses than just one, would have been needed. Nipping things in the bud is always a good way to go. This is possible if you keep a homeopathic first aid kit handy at all times. You never know when you’ll need it.

When using homeopathic medicines successfully, it is very helpful, although not esential, to know what the cause of the problem was. By knowing what a puncture wound is, you can then select the best medicine for it. Ledum is the number one homeopathic medicine for dealing effectively with recent puncture wounds.
